They come with a USB extension cable for people that don’t have USB ports on their monitor (or iMac, whatever). The stupid part is that the USB plugs are grooved and mated to each other so that you can’t use the extension cable for a standard USB device. Yet the Apple keyboard will plug into any USB cable/device, whether it is made by Apple or not. I have no idea why they wasted money doing this.
